Stopped in for first time to grab a beer and meet up with friends prior to an event at Trampoline Hall. Chill atmosphere, great beer, un-rushed service, casual setting and dog friendly. Would cheerfully stop in again anytime.

TLDR: If you like beer and live anywhere in the City, this is a must check out at for either a) a stop when on a bar crawl in the Mission b) a stop on an SF brewery crawl OR c) a warm, sunny afternoon any given day of the year ("warm" and "sunny" being the key words here). If you love beer and are visiting the City, this is a must stop. Longer: From their website: "We are throwing fastballs here. High quality ingredients. A wide array of beer styles made true to form. We welcome all people to the brewery and look forward to serving you." One of the co-owners has been home brewing since the early aughts (maybe even late 90s*shrug*), and Standard Deviant as we know it opened their doors in 2016, and at the time they were one of ~20 craft breweries in the city. I drank plenty of PBR and Natty (light, and, regrettably, Ice) back back back in the college day, but toward the end (~2009) and until just recently (2023), removed beer and anything tangential to gluten from my diet. Now that I've figured out I have Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency and my boyfriend loves (Mexican and craft) beer, SD has been on the top of our list to check out. Boyfriend saw the nitro horchata at Brass Tax in Hayes Valley on Halloween, but we didn't have a chance to try it, so when a friend wanted to meet for a drink halfway between ours and theirs, Standard Deviant was it! We ventured here on a random Friday in early Nov. Inside wasn't wall to wall bodies, but there did seem to be some sorta office gathering that took up a handful of the long tables on one side of the room. Brace yourself for more of that over the holiday season. Even without that large group, there were plenty of groups inside, and one of ~6-10 outside. 14th isn't the best street for...enjoying the scenery, so don't expect sweeping city views. Also, don't be surprised if traffic is absolutely bonkers flying by you. If city sounds aren't for you, pull up a table inside. Or better yet, check out their Ferry Building location (once it opens... soon?) This is an ~order at the bar, open or close your tab, go on your way~ typa establishment. No exaggeration on their "wide array of beer styles made true to form" statement. Boyfriwnd sampled the nitro horchata to ensure the flavor profile was good enough to consume in a large quantity. I ended up getting a flight of IPAs because I generally like them (esp Hazy IPAs), thought it'd be fun to compare / contrast, and def get analysis paralysis when considering so many options. Good thing Boyfriend also likes IPAs, because even the Hazy was not my cup of tea. Oops. Another good thing: I really love the nitro horchata! So we ended up switching and we were both happy campers. I'm tempted to get a whole jug of the nitro horchata... but there's no way I'd drink it in time for it to not get flat. Once thing that would have helped me; one of those lil wooden paddle flight holder thingamabobs + somewhere to write which glass is which. I'm a visual learner, so telling me the info goes in one ear and out the other (LOL). I guess it's a good thing I didn't like any of the beers + we know well enough they darker the IPA, the higher the alc content, and could deduce which was which. We noticed there was someone selling tacos(?) inside+to the right of the bar. IIRC, 2 basic tacos out of a hot plate for $10. We hadn't eaten, but opted for waiting to grab fresherish, hot food at our next stop. I need to find out when they expect to stop brewing the nitro horchata and try to get back for another pint before I lose the chance!

In my old neighborhood of the Mission is a bit different from other parts and other sides within the Mission District in San Francisco. On 14th street within a block away on each side of Mission street there were some movies filmed like the classic movie" 48 Hrs " with the Woodward alley scene and the movie" Blue Jasmine" in the apartment scenes on South Van Ness and along with other movies shot nearby. The neighborhood was quite the street cinema in different genres of everyday life with many different soundtracks. One place to congregate and grab a drink today on 14th street is the Standard Deviant Brewing. This place has lots of seating and is a good spot to grab a drink and hangout and watch a game with lots of televisions or play drinking games ( with board games). This is not officially a sports bar but has the environment and the space for almost any occasion . I came here for a private launch party event. Standard Deviant Brewing offers a variety of beers which they brew in house with big brewery tanks in the back of the bar. Since October is almost over I decided to try their Oktoberfest beer which had a smooth taste. They also have Barrel aged beer like the Nitro Bourbon Stout and the Wine Farmhouse Saison . My old neighborhood always had flavor with the drink, food and people bringing San Francisco a different ingredient The Mission is different all around inside and outside the standard deviant

Service was great, beers were very tasty, and the atmosphere was great to catch up with friends!

Spacious place with good beers and great people. Will return next time I'm in San Francisco.

Great beers. Great staff. Chill spot. Delicious taco pop up. What more does one need in a local brewery?

Looking for a variety of alcoholic contents in your beer? From less than 4% to double-digit alcohol contents - Standard Deviant has it all! On top of this, nice/clean bathrooms, friendly staff, dog friendly, indoor/ outdoor seatings. Friendly customers..oh my.. what more can you ask for?? Bring your own food? Yes, check! Tacos available in weekends? Yes, check again! Standard deviant checks all the boxes! We will be back...again and again and again.. see you there!

This brewery is my favorite ever. The beers are INCREDIBLE, and the staff is kind, accepting, friendly and supportive. Honestly a friendly neighborhood brewery that brings so many people joy. Very thankful for this amazing place and the people that work here

Friendly crew, laid back atmosphere and great spot for game night. The empanadas were a nice addition to the brews, too!

A fun place to hang out with a nice selection of beers! They have food as well and board/card games . Plenty of space to hang out and catch up. Also really loved the different art they had hanging on the walls all around.
